Bible Presentation for Kindergartens & 3rd Graders

GUM Steps of Hope Walk / 5k & Family Friendly Route

Join West Market Street UMC in supporting Greensboro Urban Ministry's inaugural Steps of Hope Walk and help make a difference in our community! Choose between a 5K walk or a shorter, family-friendly route as we come together to support neighbors experiencing food insecurity and homelessness.

Family Brunch

To kickoff a new school year, all children, youth, and their parents/families are invited to gather together for food, fellowship, shared moments with God, and information about ways to connect this Fall!
Breakfast is provided. We'll meet in the Youth Loft on the 4th Floor at 10am on Sunday, August 30. Feel free to invite a friend!

Children & Youth will participate alongside their parents. Children will have a breakout group just for them for a portion of our time together. If desired, younger children are welcome to enjoy activities in the Nursery (Rm 224).

Back to School Blessing
SUN AUG 30 9 & 11AM / BRUNCH AT 10AM
Bring your school backpack, books, planner, and other symbols of education to the 9am Modern Service in the Fellowship Hall or the 11am Traditional Service in the Sanctuary. We’ll pray for students and educators, offer a small gift, and share a special blessing as we begin the new school year!

One Service Sunday
SUN AUG 23 ONE SERVICE 10AM SANCTUARY / CATERED BRUNCH
Join us as the entire WMSUMC family gathers for one special worship service in the Sanctuary. Following worship, we will gather together for brunch in the Fellowship Hall. We’ll also share service learning projects in three areas of Missional Engagement focus: Food Insecurity, Affordable Housing, and Immigrant and Refugee support.

Vacation Bible School 2026
JUNE 29-JULY 2 9AM-12PM (1PM EXTENDED PICKUP)
Our 2026 theme is Passport to Peace! Join us as we travel the world as peacemakers! Through Bible stories, art, service, music, games, snacks, and more, we will explore peace that comes from remembering God’s love for us and peace that shares God’s love with others.
Go SERVE
MON JUNE 15-WED JUNE 17 / 8:30AM-3:30PM
Start off the summer with a local mission experience for rising 3rd-6th graders! Each day we will have field trips to local service organizations as we seek to be a part of God’s work in the world. Capacity for Go SERVE is 25 participants. Registration is first-come, first-serve. There is no cost! Sign up through the button below.
